“Winter Madness” House Concert Series 2015 (4 — 7 pm)
In January, Bernhardt Winery will begin it’s ninth year of Sunday sunset music concerts. What began nine years ago as a special onetime Sunday sunset music concert, has grown into a year round music entertainment venue. The winery now hosts some of the state’s top music artists as well as special guests from Aspen, Nashville, Los Angeles, The Caribbean and Canada. Jerry and Jerri Bernhardt are always looking for music artists that have a special sound and feel for their winery customers. At this time of year, the Bernhardt’s invite you to shake off the cold winter blues with a toasty afternoon warmed by their fireplace, enjoying award winning wines, delicious appetizers and an incredible lineup of musical talent.
The concerts in January, February and March are inside in their warm, cozy concert room. The concert format is designed around a Sunday afternoon picnic with family and friends. The winery provides family table seating in the concert room to enhance the intimacy of the evening. Appetizers and a dessert are provided and are included in the ticket price. If you would like, you can bring your own picnic dinner. The evening starts at 4:00 with appetizers and a meet-and-greet with the entertainers and friends. The entertainment begins at 4:30 with a break at 5:30 for picnic time and dessert. The entertainment then resumes at 6:00 and ends around 7:00. Seating is limited to 60 people and requires a reservation. The tickets for these events are $35 plus tax and gratuity. The tickets are by reservation only and include reserved seating, appetizers and dessert. These concerts sell out quickly. To purchase tickets, call 936.894.9829.
January 18: Richard Leigh
This will be a very unique listening experience direct from Nashville. You will hear some of the biggest country songs in the industry by the man who wrote them! You will hear the story behind the songs and how they sounded the day they were born. To date, Leigh has written 4 songs that have made it into the top 10. For Crystal Gayle, he wrote Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue which rose to Number 1 on both county and pop charts, I’ll Get Over You, and for Reba McIntire he wrote The Greatest Man I Never Knew and for the Dixie Chicks he wrote Cold Day In July. Check him out at richardleigh.com.
January 25: Yelba and Latin Fire
Latin Nicaraguan-born Yelba plays both sides of the Latin ballad/salsa street. Working with jazz guitarist Mark Towns on her debut CD, Recuerdos, Yelba favors the "Bésame Mucho"-type boleros but easily swings into a salsafied version of "Hotel California" or a Peruvian-tinged "Tamalito." She will loosen your Latin hips and have you Salsa dancing on the lawn. Check her out at yelba.net.

March 8: Tin Umbrella
Cory Hart is an American singer-songwriter/actor. It doesn’t take long, watching a Tin Umbrella show, to see that the man was born to perform. Hart is ever engaging with an uncanny gift to make you laugh, cry, sing, dance and most importantly, forget about everything else. “At Christmas time, when I was a kid, I’d always entertain the family by singing, telling jokes or just making it up as I went. I’ve definitely carried that with me in my career. When I’m on stage, I feel at home and I still make it up as I go.”
At home on the stage since his early teens, Shannon Pickard loves to watch audiences light up. Half of the Texas country music duo Tin Umbrella, Shannon Pickard is living his dream of entertaining people and inspiring lives on stage, screen and everywhere in between. Shannon’s old soul for music began to form when he was just 8 years old, traveling with his parents to Jones Country and Graceland, inspired by the legends, George, Johnny, Willie and Elvis, and captivated by the sight of thousands of people showing up just to watch someone sing.
